So many designers selling logo design as the key to any business looking to rename or create the identity of a company. This is true to some point, but a logo is as strong as the mark.
You can have the best logo in the world, but if the marketing material does not portray the same message and emotion, then the logo is fighting a losing battle.
An example I use is the perfect home search. If the company logo represents the facade of a beautiful house on the market then you would want to inquire further. However, if within the property does not strike the same emotions that the rooms were decorated with the same style at all then people may be deterred look around, much less consider their future home.

Orange has a very strong brand. The logo is simple and bold, but could easily get lost between the world of logos. However, the strong brand of Orange This has created an instantly recognizable company in a competitive market.

True, logo design is important, but this is only the door of the company. Brand is the full picture. Colors and the photograph marketing message. Its all of this together makes a great company change its name.
