What’s the proper term for a pair of swords that both fit into one sheath, and only have half a hilt each?

I bought this set at a Renaissance Fair, today, but I don’t know what to call them. They are 28-inches long each with straight 20-inch, singled-edged blades. They also have some Japanese or Chinese characters etched into the base of the blade. Thanks in advance!
There are two swords. Both swords are single-sided.

Is the sword double-sided???
