How to remove a drink stain from taffeta prom dress?

Whilst at a winter formal, someone spilt a drink all over my prom dress, which has lest a massive stain, i went to the dry cleaners with it, but they refused to touch it. The dress was expensive and i have only had it on once, is there any other forms of cleaning that i could try?

It would help to know what the stain was. Wine, cola, coffee???
